When you hire Michele, you are not only paying someone to trim or glue on shoes; you are trusting me to care for both you and your animals health. Our goal is to provide you with quality hoof care so that your animal will perform at its finest, achieve proper balance within its body, and to be as comfortable as possible day to day. To achieve this, you may expect several standards when you hire me.
- Care: I not only care about your horse, but I also care about you! I would love to know if there is anything outside of hoof care that we may help you with. I love listening about your day to day activities, your wins, your struggles. Anything in between. I truly thrive on relationship with my clients. Your more then just a check to me!
- Patience: We will work patiently with your animal during any behavior issues that may arise. You and your animal will be treated with respect and understanding through every interaction.
- Quality: While I try to work as quickly as possible, I refuse to sacrifice quality by hurrying or taking shortcuts. Its an art form to me, and its my business card! I want your animal to get my best work everytime.
- Communication: You may contact me through a call, text, email, or a message through social media at your convenience. Whether it is to set up your next appointment, report a lost shoe, or ask a question, I will respond as soon as I can. Text is best!!
- Collaboration: We are happy and WANT to work with your vet to ensure the best hoof care possible. X-rays are a farriers best friend! Seriously- want to impress me? Show up to our first meeting with xrays ill love it!
- Referrals: If your horse needs specialized care that we are not able to provide, we are more than happy to refer you to someone who is able.
What do I need from you?!
- Keep your scheduled appointment. I schedule my day around your appointment. I understand life comes up but try to be mindful when you schedule. If you do need to cancel or change appointment times, I do ask that, if possible, you contact me at least 24 hours in advance.
- A safe, free of obstructions, flat, non-slip, (dirt, rubber mat, textured concrete, stone) ( NOT polished/smooth concrete) area to work in with good lighting and, if shoeing, water and a power source is necessary. The nicer the area, the easier it is to produce high quality work.
- Please be available to hold your horse during the appointment.
- Horses must be taught to stand well and not kick or jerk. Work may not be completed if the horse is a safety hazard and will not be rescheduled if dangerous. I do provide training for this if needed at a cost.
- Horses should be DRY. It is okay if they are dirty.
- Please have your horse caught before the appointment.
- Payment at the time of service. We accept cash or venmo. Check are highly discouraged as much as possible.
- Please call if you have any questions or problems (such as a lost shoe).
